More Than Entertainment

A Story Children Can Carry With Them

Children face big feelings every day. New experiences. Hard choices. Worries. Mistakes. Moments when they are not sure they can do what comes next.

Jasper gives those feelings a story.

Jasper Gets Scared Too

Bravery Doesn't Require Fearlessness

Jasper does not begin his adventure feeling fearless, confident, or certain.

He worries.

He hesitates.

And when he sees the enormous oak tree he must climb, his first thought is that he simply cannot do it.

That is what makes his courage meaningful.

"Fear is a feeling.
It is not an order."

Jasper learns that being afraid does not mean he has to stop.

🌱

Builds Healthy Courage

Children see that courage can mean trying something difficult even while their hands, paws, or hearts still feel a little shaky.

💬

Opens Real Conversations

Jasper gives adults a natural starting point for talking about fear, confidence, trying again, and asking for help.

💛

Shows Another Kind of Strength

Jasper does not solve every problem by fighting. Children see that patience, kindness, creativity, and self-control can also be brave.

🐾

Makes Big Things Feel Smaller

The "one little step" idea gives children a simple way to approach something that feels overwhelming.

Imagine your child facing something difficult and remembering Jasper.

Not because Jasper was never afraid.

Because he was afraid and discovered he could still move forward.

One paw.
One branch.
One little step.

The real Jasper who inspired Jasper and the Golden Time Watch

The real Jasper who inspired the storybook hero.

The Inspiration Behind the Adventure

Yes. Jasper Is Real.

The fluffy orange hero behind Jasper & the Golden Time Watch was inspired by a very real cat named Jasper.

The real Jasper is lovable, easygoing, curious, playful, and full of personality.

He loves playing with toys, scratching his cat post, suddenly racing through the room for no obvious reason, finding comfortable places to rest, and lying upside down with his fluffy belly in the air.

Those little pieces of Jasper's real personality helped shape the character children meet in the story.

Sometimes the best storybook heroes are already living right beside us.

Jasper's adventures may involve magical watches, journeys through time, mysterious clockmakers, and very tall trees...

But at the center of every adventure is the same lovable orange cat.

🐾

Lovable

Jasper is warm, gentle, and easy to root for from the very beginning.

🔎

Curious

Even when something makes him nervous, Jasper still wants to understand the world around him.

😺

Playful

He can race through the room one moment and flop onto his back the next.

💛

Brave in His Own Way

Jasper does not need to become fearless to discover that he can do something difficult.

From Real Cat to Storybook Hero

Jasper's Personality Makes the Adventure Feel Personal

Children get the magic of an imaginary adventure while knowing the lovable cat behind the character is real.

Step Inside the Adventure

What Happens When Willowbrook Loses Time?

Jasper's first adventure begins with an ordinary morning and quickly becomes anything but ordinary.

Here is a little peek at the magical journey waiting inside Book One: BRAVE.

01
A Very Strange Morning

Willowbrook's Great Clock Stops

Buses begin arriving at the wrong time. Bread comes out of ovens too early. Shopkeepers open at strange hours.

Even the pigeons seem confused.

🕰️

Something is wrong with time itself.

The watch around Jasper's neck begins to glow.

02
Meet Tick

The Golden Time Watch Can Talk

Jasper discovers that the beautiful old watch he has been wearing is no ordinary pocket watch.

His name is Tick.

And Tick knows why Willowbrook is in trouble.

03
Into the Past

Jasper and Pip Travel Through Time

Golden sparks begin swirling around Jasper's paws.

Before he knows it, Jasper and his clever mouse friend Pip are swept backward through time.

They arrive in a Willowbrook that looks familiar, but very different.

TICK!
TOCK!
WHOOOSH!
⚙️

Small things can be more important than they appear.

04
The Heart of the Clock

Jasper Meets Elias the Clockmaker

Elias introduces Jasper to a tiny but very important golden piece called the Heart Gear.

Without it, Willowbrook cannot keep one moment connected properly to the next.

05
Trouble Takes Flight

A Crow Steals the Heart Gear

Just when Jasper thinks the problem might be solved, a black crow swoops down and carries the Heart Gear away.

Jasper has no choice but to run after it.

The chase leads him farther and farther from the city.

🐦‍⬛

The adventure becomes a race against time.

🌳

The Heart Gear is high above Jasper.

06
The Biggest Challenge

The Tallest Oak Jasper Has Ever Seen

The crow lands near the very top of an enormous oak tree.

Jasper looks up.

And up.

And up.

He is frightened.

This is where Jasper's real lesson begins.

07
One Little Step

Jasper Learns What Being Brave Really Means

Jasper does not suddenly stop being afraid.

The tree does not become smaller.

Instead, Jasper discovers that he does not have to climb the whole tree at once.

Marsha Haworth, Author

Meet the Author

Hi, I'm Marsha Haworth.

I created Jasper & the Golden Time Watch because I wanted children to have stories that are magical, fun, and exciting, but also leave them with something meaningful after the adventure ends.

Jasper's first story is built around a simple idea that I believe children deserve to hear:

You do not have to feel fearless before you can be brave.

Sometimes courage begins quietly.

One choice.

One paw.

One little step.

Jasper's adventures are designed to encourage children to believe in themselves, treat others with kindness, keep trying when something feels difficult, and discover that even small actions can matter.

Why I Write Jasper's Stories

Stories Can Stay With Children Long After the Book Is Closed

I want children to enjoy Jasper's adventures while they are reading, but I also want the lessons to quietly come back to them later.

When they are nervous about trying something new.

When something feels too difficult.

When they need to remember that being afraid does not mean they have to stop.

🐾

Courage

Helping children understand that bravery can begin while fear is still present.

💛

Kindness

Showing that strength can include patience, compassion, and choosing not to fight.

🌱

Confidence

Encouraging children to recognize that confidence often grows one small success at a time.

Hope

Reminding young readers that something difficult today does not mean it will always feel impossible.

If Jasper helps a child look at something difficult and think, "Maybe I can take one little step," then his adventure has done something very special.

Be brave.
Take one little step.
